Picture from Fetal Surgery!

The amazing UCSF doctors operating on me and the babe. My uterus!
More cute surgeons.

My uterus, Tyson's back, white part is patch they put on his back to close the spine and incision. It should be healed over by birth and look normal. Ihave some other really good pictures they printed for me that I need my dad to scan then I will post.
These pictures were taken during my fetal surgery by the cutest sweet nurse Rachel. We are at UCSF, there our only two center in the U.S. that preform fetal surgery. Nashville used to but stopped two weeks ago because the fetal surgeron moved to a different hospital who does not have the right to fetal surgery. Only UCSF and Philadelpia childrens hospital offer the surgery. Surgery went well, a few minor things afterward that i will explain later. I don't think I had realized what the surgery meant for me. I was so focused on Tyson and making the decision. It has been a tough week but I made it. I am starting to feel better and may be discharged later this evening.

That is absolutly amazing! I'm so glad everything went well. I can't wait to see more pics and hear how you are actually feeling. I wondered if they do this surgery just like c-section? And how you are actually feeling now. Does he move just as much? So many questions but I'm so glad you are doing alright. We send our loves!

Jessica, you are definitely a Madsen! Determined to do whatever it takes! Such incredible courage, inner strength and faith you have shown to all of us. Tyson is so blessed to have parents who will do anything in their power to give him the best start in life they possibly can. "Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved." - Helen Keller. You have my love, Aunt Jill

Jess, I have been thinking of you all day long. I have held my baby boy tighter as I think of the love you have for Tyson and how precious these babies are.
You are a champ! I don't know how you are doing this, but you are incredible. You probably feel like you've just had a c-section, plus the hugest roller-coaster of emotions.
Is there anything I can do to help? Really??? Please let me know.
Hang in there. I hope your recovery is smooth. And baby Tyson is doing well too.
love, Jaci
